Rusty Tweed
About
Rusty Tweed has been active in real estate transactions since he was a young man, purchasing his first rental property in Toronto, Canada, when he was just 22 years old. After a few years, he was able to buy his second Toronto rental home. With his passive income sources, Rusty went to Los Angeles in 1987 and started a new life there. Foreclosure sourcing and flipping began soon after Rusty arrived in Southern California and he had completed more than 30 real estate deals before the early 1990s crisis.
When Rusty learned about a 1031 Tax-Deferred Exchange in 2004, he was astonished. Del Exeter, a local CPA in Monrovia, CA, was Rusty's boss at the time. A former exchange division head at Chicago Title Company's Chicago Title Company, Del's son Bill Exeter, met Rusty for the first time. Using Bill's experience, he rapidly got up to speed and successfully completed his 1031 Exchange operations.
Since then, Rusty has supported his clients in the sale or purchase of well over a hundred different properties. Throughout his career, Rusty has successfully completed more than $500 million worth of 1031 exchanges. When it comes to his firm, Rusty focuses much of his attention on helping clients complete the 1031 exchange.
When it comes to finding new properties to replace those that have been sold and are no longer needed, his company and he are the go-to experts. Multi-family, NNN lease, commercial, oil and gas leases, and raw land are just a few of the types of properties Rusty has dealt with throughout his career.
